The Monadnock Area Business Community (themonadnock.com) is a more efficient way for us, as local organizations, to publish and promote our respective organizations, while communicating more effectively with you. There are great advantages for all of us to have a role in the development of this regional online community.

TheMonadnock.com is the only regional site that is designed as a collaborative portal for the local and regional business/organizational community. We share (the Shopping Mall effect) full direct access to our local patrons and residents online. One business may drive a surfer into our site, but the surfer may establish communication with any of our members while visiting.

We are able to communicate faster, without time and space constraints (such as with radio and newspaper), and we are able to do so much more while saving precious cash in our overall marketing and advertising expenses, and boosting the value of our overall promotional campaigns. Less overhead for us – translates into better deals for you!

Please encourage the organizations that you know or represent, to join with us in the long term commitment of developing this site provided here for you, to enhance your overall online experience.

As time goes on, and more and more local businesses support this community, you will find this site to be a tremendous local resource center for you. Here are a few of the reasons why you should come here often.

  • Get local Monadnock business (and organizational) news – from our own perspective 24/7.
  • Check out our events calendar from trade shows to open houses and fundraisers.
  • Get bargains found in our classified ads or our personal “storefront” – even job listings.

What is the Monadnock.com?

2. Community (Hub) of Local Organizations
3. Communication System
4. Marketing System
5. Public Relations System
6. Hospitality Opportunity
7. Customer Care Opportunity

What is the purpose for TheMonadnock.com?
The Monadnock Area Business Community is an Internet portal of self expression for organizations (for profit & non profit) serving the Monadnock region. It provides a unique combination of community functionality specifically targeting the public relations, marketing, and publishing needs of it’s member group in core strategical areas of influence that are critical and vital to establishing and maintaining healthy relationships via the Internet.

Some of these are
1. Communication
2. Networking
3. Hospitality
4. Outreach
5. Support

How does TheMonadnock.com accomplish the purpose?
Platform Provisioning. The first milestone achieved by this community site was to build and offer to the local organizations an interactive platform that enables communication directly with the public (live 24/7) from a central location. This was accomplished using a content management system that provides membership usage and publishing privileges.

Simplicity. Technology is used to simplify processes, sort information, enable communication, and to build and enhance public/consumer relationships.

High Tech – High Touch. Systems are employed to provide a “high touch” to site visitors intended to generate a hospitable environment and two way “access”.

Our site traffic at this time is resulting primarily by word of mouth and search
engine keyword phrases from people online that are looking for local information.

This poses some obvious questions...
1. How many stores in the Monadnock region have had 462 or more unique
visitors since April 1st with a $0.00 advertising budget?
2. How many web sites in the Monadnock region have had 20 or more pages
viewed by their "AVERAGE VISITOR"?
3. How many businesses (and non-profits) will find this to be worth the average
cost of a medium cup of coffee each day?

Pre-launch Notes PDF Print E-mail
Written by David Thayer

It is common practice among Internet based programs that are designed to bring like-minded people together, to offer a pre-launch period.

Purpose
The “pre-launch” period is established to attract leaders that see the value of a program, by providing them with incentives that will motivate them to get involved without hesitation. These incentives also encourage them to help others build the momentum necessary in order to have a successful launch - even before the program is officially kicked off.

Pre-Launch periods help to remove the fears that participants sometimes have when they are asked to get involved eary in a new program. They often fear (for example) to be the "only one" early in the building process, and don't want to risk getting involved with something that might not last because of that. Sometimes it's fear about stepping on the toes of "competing" agencies who might be offended and make life more challenging, and there are many other reasons.

How they work
In order to build momentum, pre-launch periods encourage these (members) who believe in the value of the program, or like the overall concept and want to see it work. They become willing to be involved with either promoting it, supporting it, or contributing to it in some fashion. Even if it means as little as saying, “Hey – I’m involved, and you should be too!”

The pre-launch also is a training period for these founding members to bring them up to speed, as they are the forerunners of the program, and will most likely be the “new leadership” as the membership expands, and new programs are unveiled.

Pre-launch members are given “rewards or incentives” to get involved early.

Pre-launch members are also “given rewards or incentives” for what they do or contribute.

Pre-launch members are also given recognition as being a founding member or supporter and promoter.

Pre-Launch members are also given "future discounts" on renewals, new releases, advertising, and more.
